Colin Davey has worked in Fleet Street as a news photographer all his life and has travelled extensively to most parts of the world covering a diverse range of news assignments.

Colin's career began at Camera Press in the 1960's during which time he assisted Karsh and covered assignments for Paris Match, L’Express, Stern and Bunte in addition to all the major Royal world tours.

In 1979, Colin joined Evening Standard as news photographer where his assignments covered wide ranging national and international editorial news topics from the world’s first heart transplant to the Beirut US hostages’ release, which received World Press Photo Award recognition.

From 1987, Colin was employed by Today newspaper, during which time he covered many hundreds of news stories, major conflicts and disasters around the world including both the Bosnia and Gulf wars.  He was awarded Royal Photographer of the Year for his photographs of Princess Diana during this period.

Colin joined Associated Newspapers in 1995 after a brief spell working for the Sun.  This followed employment as a news photographer at the Daily Mail.

Colin is one of the founding members of the British Press Photographers Association (BPPA).
